Qingyue Sun
Hello there!
I'm Qingyue Sun (which means “Pure Moon” in Chinese), a Ph.D. Candidate in Communication, Culture, and Media at Drexel University (Currently on the academic job market).
My work has been published in journals such as Social Media + Society, International Journal of Cultural Studies, Feminist Media Studies, and International Journal of Communication, among others. Here’s a glimpse into my research playground:
Digital labor politics: the precarity of platformization and intersecting inequalities faced by digital workers and cultural creators.
Feminist media studies: transnational feminism, the production and audience reception of feminism in popular culture and media industries (e.g., K-pop circulation, transnational media production, and film).
Resistance and media activism: labor resistance, networked feminist practices, and digital feminism.
I am also interested in topics such as the politicization of popular culture, digital entrepreneurship, influencer culture, and K-pop studies.
